Frisco artists will be out in full force over the next week, opening new shows as well as their studios!
The Visual Arts Guild of Frisco opens their newest member show “Rat Pack Magic: The Golden Age of Crooners” on Wednesday, October 8 at the Frisco Discovery Center. The show features VAGF Members’ renditions of music, fedoras, swanky nightclubs and that unmistakable crooner style. The reception is from 7:00 – 9:00pm and is open to the public. Awards will be announced at 8:00pm. The Frisco Discovery Center is located at 8004 N. Dallas Parkway on the east side of the Dallas North Tollway, at Cotton Gin Road.
On Friday evening, October 10, thegallery8680 is hosting a fantastic party, which is serving double duty as an Artists’ Reception for their new exhibit “Out of the Studio” and a Kickoff Party for the upcoming ArtSeen Studio Tour the following weekend, October 18 and 19. Rub elbows with the exhibiting artists Rebecca Boatman, Kim Reid and Theresa Traweek during the party, and meet the artists who will be a part of the Studio Tour. The Kickoff Party will be from 7:00 – 9:00pm this Friday at thegallery8680, located at 8680 W. Main Street in Frisco. The gallery is located on the north side of Main Street, between Dr. Pink Road and Preston Road, in the Crestview Professional Center.
All of this fun will be extended to the following weekend, during the 4th Annual ArtSeen Studio Tour. This year features 16 artists in studios all over town. The tour has become a fall staple for Frisco, and is a great way to see the local artists in action. The VAGF show and thegallery8680 exhibit will both be a part of the Studio Tour, so if you can’t make the opening receptions (or want to take a second look at the shows), put that on your agenda for the tour. You can find out about each artist and get a map of the tour at www.artseentour.com.
The Artists of Frisco are looking forward to meeting you!
